Ziggy Marley Proven to Have Quite the Eye for Real Estate

Reggae star Ziggy Marley recently made headlines for reasons other than his immense musical talent. The eldest son of Bob Marley has reportedly thrown his weight behind environmental campaign groups like Extinction Rebellion, reiterating just how much he truly cares for the world as a whole. As much as Ziggy is a philanthropist working towards a better world, he is also a huge fan of prime real-estate.  The latest addition to his collection of properties, which also includes a $3.1 million Beverly Hills house and a condo in West Hollywood, is a magnificent $5.5 million Toluca Lake mansion that is the epitome of tranquil opulence.

He came from humble beginnings

Bob Marley, Ziggy’s dad, knew no riches while growing up. Being born in St. Ann Parish, Jamaica, Bob lived in the slums for a large part of his life. It was only in 1975 when he got signed to Island Records that Bob Marley bought number 56 Hope Road. Although he now sports quite an impressive real estate portfolio, Ziggy also spent a part of his childhood in one of Kingston’s poorest neighborhoods known as Trench Town.  The Marley’s rags-to-riches story continues to be a great inspiration to the youth. Owning a beautiful home is a dream for many and one that can be obtained whether you work hard or require financial assistance to purchase or refinance such a home.

A mansion fit for a reggae star

Marley’s Spanish-style mansion sits on half an acre of land adjacent to the Lakeside Golf Club and was designed by renowned Montecito architect Bob Easton. Apart from 5 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms, the house with wooden and stone floors vaulted ceilings also boasts no less than 6 fireplaces. The spa-inspired master suite features not one but two fireplaces and a big outdoor veranda that overlooks the trees in the garden. The spa-inspired master suite features two fireplaces and a sprawling outdoor veranda, which looks out over the lush treetops. The expansive kitchen is kitted out with the latest in hi-tech appliances and, like the family room, features glass walls that let in a lot of natural light and that opens out onto the backyard. The approximately 9,300 square feet of living space also includes a library, wine cellar, screening room, and well-equipped bar area that undoubtedly makes for great entertaining.

Outdoor living spaces to die for

The outdoor spaces surrounding the house are every bit as idyllic as the interior is. French doors lead from the house to the backyard which comprises a large covered loggia, a swimming pool, spa, outdoor cooking area, and a basketball court. Off the entrance is a spectacular courtyard complete with a sparkling fountain which adds to the natural serenity of the home. Ziggy, who often talks about the role meditation plays in his life will also undoubtedly put the serene meditation garden with the large Buddha statue, to very good use when he is at home.

Ziggy’s mansion is without a doubt befitting of a reggae superstar. With all the hard work he does, it is only right that Marley has a beautiful home to relax in with his family and closest friends.
