Dancehall’s dominance in Jamaica is undeniable, with the genre’s latest crop of new artistes, such as Valiant, Skeng, 450 and Malie Donn, dominating local streams on YouTube’s Music Charts Top Songs for Jamaica and being the highlight of many events on the island.
This list was curated by Yardhype and is based on Youtube streams and social media popularity hence the Video with the most views or trending currently #1 on Youtube may not be number one on this list.
Protocol deejay Skeng charts at #10 with his latest collaboration with Jigsta, Smood Wid It. The dance track was produced by Droptop Records and Ditruth Records and has racked up 867,00 views from Jamaica since its premiere on April 30. Smood Wid It is currently #5 on YouTube’s trending chart for Jamaica.
450’s story of disappointments and betrayals in his single Live n’ Learn charts at #9. Following its premiere on March 17, Live n’ Learn has garnered 969K views.
450 makes his appearance on the chart for a second time with his first collaboration with Top Gyal singer Shaneil Muir, Crawsis, charting at #8. The pair’s tale of toxic romance was released on April 14 and has since acquired 988K views.
Social media comedian Valdomore claims #7 via his alter ego 1Skimask on the single Dawkniss. The single has secured 1.01M views since its release on April 21, and the burgeoning artiste has released two tracks since his debut, SKi featuring Deno Crazy and Ye Ye Ye Ye.
Jamaican music producer Rvssian has come a long way since his 2010 single with Vybz Kartel, Straight Jeans & Fitted. Though he remains behind the camera for most of his projects, Rvssian occasionally steps to the forefront, and his latest joint single, Tic Tac Toe with Tommy Lee Sparta and Valiant, takes the #6 spot on the chart with 1.1M views.
At #5 is St. Kitts dancehall artiste Byron Messia with his January release Talibans. Messia, who faced backlash for saying that he was not influenced by Jamaican dancehall music, has garnered 1.21M Jamaican views with the popular track.

Valiant, a fixture on the music charts, takes the #4 spot with his paranoia and heartbreak-fueled track Insomnia. The single has amassed 1.3M views since its premiere on April 18.
Detailing his expensive tastes and the perks of his luxury lifestyle, Valiant makes his third appearance on the chart with his single Expensive at #3 with 1.36M views.

Portmore native Malie Donn Claims the #2 spot with his V6 engine-inspired single V6. The Ireland Records produced track was released on March 8 and has amassed 2.38M views.
Topping our Chart is Teejay’s Drift, The number one(#1) song is taking Tiktok and Instagram by storm with countless people making video clips to the audio of the song, even before its official release. Drift was released on Youtube a day ago and has amassed over 280k views on the platform, sitting at number 5 on the trending list.
