10yo Killed in Downtown Kingston

The Central Police have reported that a ten-year-old girl by the name of Jezariah Tyrell was shot and killed in Downtown, Kingston while at a Wildman Street address at about 2:50 a.m this morning. According to the report, the student was asleep with relatives when they were attacked by unknown assailants.
The attackers tried to gain access to the premises which is located in a tenement yard setting, they fired shots at the occupants while trying to do so.
After the attack, Jezariah was found suffering from gunshot wounds, she was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The matter is currently being investigated and the police are asking for anyone in the community with information about the shooting to contact them at the Central Police Station or 119.
