16YO Beheaded by Shark in Trelawny
As per reports, A student of the William Knibb High School in Trelawny died after a suspected attack from a tiger shark. Residents believe that the 16-year-old was attacked by a shark that is not from the area, one that seemingly followed a ship that visited the area a day prior.
The teen whose name is Jahmarie Reid and also known as “Fire” was fishing at a beach in Falmouth of the parish Monday morning and had left his clothes and phone on land, an alert was raised when the teen did not return after being gone for hours.
During searches, a limb was first found then the body with a missing head. “it was a crazy scene, it’s not nice to see, very heartbreaking,” said One of the residents, another theorizes that the head of the teen is still “inna the shark belly… a di ship him follow cum een… him feed Offa di ship”.
One person told a reporter that other fishermen saw the shark at sea and “fire shot offa him” but were unable to capture the beast.
The father of Jahmarie who is a taxi operator expressed that he argued with his son about going to sea multiple times because he was not doing it for a “worthy cause… he’s not doing it for needy”, he also pointed out that his son went fishing alone.
