1yo Dies After Allegedly Falling Off Bed In Clarendon
An investigation has been launched into the death of a 1-year-old boy who is said to have fallen from a bed Sunday night in Pedro district, Crofts Hill, Clarendon before dying Monday.
According to police reports, around 3:30 pm Crofts Hill Police were called regarding an infant that was found unresponsive in bed. The infant, who has been identified as Steven West, was taken to the morgue and is currently awaiting post mortem reports.
Meanwhile, the mother and stepfather were taken into custody as police investigated the sudden, unexplained death.
A police source stated, “Information is that the infant fell from the bed, but was not taken to receive medical attention. In addition, citizens in the area indicated that they would have heard the infant crying all day.”
There was another fatality involving a child in the northern Clarendon community. The other horrific incident happened on Sunday and involved 13-year-old Omarion Haniford being fatally stabbed. His Uncle was taken into custody in connection with his murder.
The Clarendon police are currently investigating these two tragic incidents.
