During a time when riddim juggling dominated dancehall, record producer Rvssian created the Go Go Club Riddim and released it in 2009. This paved the way for a slew of hit songs from multiple artistes who composed on the popular riddim.

The riddim birthed songs such as Bike Back by Blak Ryno, Go Go Club by Vybz Kartel, Lisa Hyper and Gaza Kim’s Bill, Demarco’s A Nuh Whore, Merital with Money Ha Ha (featuring Vyz Kartel), Konshens and Dario’s Do D Ting, and Leftside with Mi Tiad. Even though each song has a unique flow that attracts music enthusiasts, Vybz Kartel’s Go Go Club is the most popular song on the riddim.

With the Worl’Boss’ aptitude for charming ladies with raunchy lyrics, he easily monopolised the riddim and won over the majority of the female listeners. It is well known that whether he’s seducing women, spitting dirty gangster lyrics, or inspiring the next generation, Vybz Kartel’s versatility makes him a force to be reckoned with in the dancehall genre globally.

Needless to say, Go Go Club has become popular again more than a decade later, thanks to Rvssian’s revival of the riddim to feature entertainers from the newest wave of dancehall artistes.

The riddim, which was renamed as the Dutty Money Riddim, so far features deejays like RajahWild with a song titled GO GO, Malie and The 9ine with Muss Shot, and Najeeriii’s Phat Phat. Also, Demarco returned for a piece of the action and teased a song that he said would be on the riddim.

Despite the increasing praise that these new songs are racking up, the majority of listeners are saying that Vybz Kartel still rules the riddim with Go Go Club. With this newfound popularity, Go Go Club even entered the Kingston’s Apple Music chart.

The 2009 anthem takes the 9th position on the chart, following not far behind Malie Don and The 9ine’s Muss Shot single at No. 5. Further up the chart, Najeeriii claimed No. 2 with his raunchy song Phat Phat.

Additionally, Go Go Club has also taken No. 33 on Apple Music Top Songs chart for Jamaica, according to the data presented by Kworb. At No. 11 is Muss Shot while Phat Phat holds No. 7, and at No. 1 is RajahWild’s Go Go.

The 47-year-old deejay’s fans have also requested that he return on the riddim with a new song for the ladies. The incarcerated deejay further ignited more excitement in the dancehall space when he accepted the request, revealing that the second instalment of his beloved Go Go Club single would be released soon.
