3 Dead, 1 Injured From Lightning Strike In Washington, DC – Watch Video

The Metropolitan Police confirmed that a lightning strike that hit a tree in the Lafayette Park across from the White House in Washington, DC in the United States (US) killed three persons and injured one on Wednesday night.
The deceased are 76-year-old James Mueller and his wife, 75-year-old Donna Mueller who were celebrating more than 50 years of marriage. An unnamed 29-year-old man died also and a woman was admitted to the hospital in critical condition.
According to reports, Secret Service Officers and the U.S. Park Police tried to assist the victims when the incident occurred. Shortly after, emergency personnel arrived and transported the injured to the hospital.
Since the tragedy, press secretary of the White House, Karine Jean-Pierre released a statement for the family of the victims.
“We are saddened by the tragic loss of life after the lightning strike in Lafayette Park. Our hearts are with the families who lost loved ones, and we are praying for those still fighting for their lives,” read the statement.
