3 Men Killed During Confrontation With JCF in Trelawny

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) has reported the deaths of three gunmen and the injury of a member of the Jamaica Defense Force (JDF) during an operation in Trelawny on Saturday.

According to the JCF’s statement issued on their social media page, the three men were killed in the Hague Settlement community of Trelawny during an early morning operation conducted yesterday. During the confrontation with the armed assailants, a member of the JDF was injured, the extent of which is not known. Reports state that three firearms were seized at the scene. The deceased men’s identities were not shared with the public, and according to the Jamaica Observer, the Independent Commission of Investigation (INDECOM) has launched an investigation into the shootings.

In a separate incident, Jamaica’s most wanted fugitive, Rudolph Shaw, also known as ‘Boxer’, was fatally wounded on Saturday afternoon by members of the Counter Terrorism and Organised Crime Investigation Branch (CTOC) during an armed confrontation at a guest house on Sandringham Avenue in Kingston. According to the JCF, the officers were met with gunfire when they arrived at the location. Another assailant was wounded during the crossfire, and he and Shaw were both pronounced dead after they were taken to a medical facility. An unidentified female that was with the men was taken into custody, and a 45 pistol and a 9mm pistol were seized.
