46 Jamaica Deportees in Quarantine Facility

The Ministry of National Security reported that Forty-six deportees arrived in Kingston, Jamaica from the USA yesterday.

The ministry also said the Jamaicans would be screened for COVID-19 and then they would be quarantined for two weeks in a facility that was designated by the Government.

The Security ministry personnel noted that the Ministry of Health and Wellness recently conducted a sensitization session with the staff at the facility where the deportees will be, and detailed the potential health risks of the COVID-19 disease so that, they know how to detect and report signs of the virus.

While under quarantine, the deportees will be screened twice daily by medical officers, this was reported by the security ministry also.

At the end of the quarantine period, the deportees who are cleared by health officials will be free to be with their family members, the ministry revealed.
