Five individuals were fatally shot on Waltham Park Road in St. Andrew, Jamaica, on Monday evening. The tragic event unfolded between 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m, when gunmen, reportedly armed with high-powered rifles, opened fire on the victims.
According to the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s Constabulary Communication Unit, six people were shot during the incident, with five later confirmed dead.
While the police have yet to identify the deceased, eyewitnesses describe a chaotic scene, with at least four of the victims seen lying motionless in pools of blood.
A silver Toyota car at the scene was found riddled with bullet holes, and the area was quickly cordoned off by authorities. Yellow police tape marked the perimeter as investigators began to gather evidence.
Footage circulating on social media has shown the grim aftermath, with several individuals visibly wounded at the location.
The motive behind the shooting remains unclear, and police have not released additional details regarding the suspects or any potential leads.
