The excitement surrounding Vybz Kartel‘s Freedom Street concert is high, as it promises to be one of the most significant events in Dancehall’s history.
The demand for tickets has been nothing short of extraordinary, with the Gaza Nation showing their unwavering support during the Black Friday sale of discounted bleachers tickets priced at US$75 (around J$12,000), a stark contrast to their regular cost of US$150 (approximately J$23,600).
These discounted tickets sold out quickly, reflecting the anticipation for the one night concert.
Joe Bogdanovich, CEO of DownSound Entertainment, which is producing the event, expressed his enthusiasm to the Jamaica Star, stating, “The Gaza Nation is unstoppable. They’ve shown up in full force, and the energy is electric. Everyone wants to be part of this history-making night.”
Bogdanovich detailed that fans from the U.S., Canada, the UK, Dubai, and beyond securing tickets to witness Kartel perform alongside stars like Popcaan, Spice, Skillibeng, and more.
Freedom Street will not only celebrate Kartel’s freedom after 13 years of imprisonment but also highlights Dancehall’s global reach. For fans who missed out on the promotional tickets, regular-priced options are still available.
The National Stadium in Kingston, Jamaica, will serve as the venue for this groundbreaking show on December 31, marking Kartel’s return to the stage after almost 15 years.
