6% Increase In Flour Prices – Jamaica Flour Mills

Derrick Nembhard, Managing Director of Jamaica Flour Mills announced that there will be approximately a 6% price increase to flour in the upcoming week.

Mr. Nembhard noted that this increase is as a result of the three times wheat and grains were increased in 2021 as well as an increase in freight charges.

In 2021, the Jamaica Flour Mills had increased flour prices between 8% and 11%. This increase affected the price of bread and baking products for Jamaicans, which required them to pay more for these commodities.

Nonetheless, this is just one increase of products that has been announced recently in Jamaica.

The Jamaica Broilers reported that there will be a 10% price increase for chicken in the upcoming week.
