8YO Perishes in Fire in Westmoreland

As per reports, eight-year-old Jahmiel Richardson perished in a house fire over the weekend, in Grange Hill Westmoreland. The tragic incident unfolded in Top Lincoln, Grange Hill, Westmoreland on Friday night, the victim is said to be a student of Peggy Barry Primary in the parish.

The incident occurred around 11:40 pm, when the fire engulfed the house while Richardson was alone inside. His mother, who was outside at the time, raised an alarm, prompting the intervention of the fire department.


According to the Jamaica Observer, after the flames were extinguished, the lifeless body of Richardson was discovered on the ground, marking a heartbreaking end to the ordeal.

In the wake of the tragedy, authorities have taken Richardson’s mother into custody as part of ongoing investigations into the circumstances surrounding the fire.
