Jamaican jerk vendor gunned down in Trinidad

46-year-old Jamaican immigrant, Neil Johnson, who has been living in Trinidad for over 14 years, was gunned down 4 days ago on the 15th of December.

He was ferried to the hospital, reports were, that he arrived there in critical condition, and after a short time there he succumbed to his injuries caused by the gunshot wounds.

The incident occurred along the Brian Lara Promenade.

Since the homicide, the police have held onto a man who’s expected to be charged for the killing sometime this week or at the start of the following week.

The Jerk Chicken vendor who was born and raised in Clarendon Jamaica was attending to his food cart when a lone gunman approached him and fired several shots at Johnson, who was wounded in the act.

The gunman fled the scene but, fellow civilians on the premises summoned the police who were on duty near the scene of the crime, they successfully chased after and arrested the gunman.

Johnson fought a losing battle for his life at Port of Spain’s General Hospital, while the gunman was transported to the police station to be questioned.
