Bill and Melinda Gates Announce the End of Their Marriage
Today, Bill Gates took to his Twitter account which has over 50 million followers to announce the separation between himself and his wife Melinda Gates who he talks about being with for over 27 years.
According to reports, the two have been separated for a while now however chose to make the official announcement today. TMZ also reports that the divorce docs did not include a PRENUP.
Bill’s wife Melinda is not requesting spousal support as seen in other recent high profile divorces, notably the one between Dr Dre and his previous wife Nicole Young. However, there could be a trial in 2022 if a settlement is not reached by then.
Both Bill and Melinda posted the same statement online about the end of their union which brought 3 kids, a part of the statement says “Over the last 27 years, we have raised three incredible children and built a foundation that works all over the world to enable all people to lead healthy, productive lives.”
They also said, “We continue to share a belief in that mission and will continue our work together at the foundation, but we no longer believe we can grow together as a couple in the next phase of our lives.”

Bill Gates and Melinda started dating in 1987 after meeting each other at a New York trade show, they got married on January 1, 1994, in Hawaii. Their three children are Jennifer, Rory and Phoebe.
The Gates’ net worth is estimated to be more than $130 billion. Melinda is the one who initiated the divorce.
Recently Jeff Bezos and ex-wife Mackenzie had a divorce after 25 years of marriage. It was then reported that Jeff had allegedly been unfaithful to his wife as he had a relationship with TV presenter Lauren Sanchez during the marriage. The then world’s richest man then accused the tabloid that dropped the bombshell, of trying to extort him.
