Reggae Boyz Squad Announced ahead Of June Int’l Friendlies
The Jamaican National Football team is preparing for a series of international friendlies and has so far released the names of the players included in the final squad, as well as the dates and teams that they will face off against. The information was posted on the Jamaica Football Federation’s Instagram page, and the final squad comprised of players who currently play for international clubs as well as local ones.
Some of the names that appeared on the list includes; Andre Blake and Cory Burke from the Philadelphia Union Club team, Kasey Palmer and Adrian Mariappa who plays for Bristol City, Wesley Harding and Devon Williams from Birmingham City, Devon Walker, Lamar Walker and Jashaun Anglin from Miami City, Kemar Lawrence from Toronto Fc, Oniel Fisher who plays for La Galaxy, and Bobby Reid just to name some of the internationally based players.
Some of the locally selected footballers include Dennis Taylor from Humble Lion, Luca Levee who plays for Harbour view Fc, and Jardine White from Cavalier Sc.
The Jamaican team will see Japan facing off against them on June 3rd, then on June 7th the team will play against Serbia and on June 12, the Japanese Olympic team will have a showdown against the Reggae Boyz.
In the comments section of the post fans of the team expressed their liking for the squad however, many of them were unhappy with the fact that West Ham’s Michail Antonio and Bayern Leverkusen’s Leon Bailey were not included.
According to Fifa, Jamaica’s Reggae Boyz currently ranks 48th worldwide with Belgium being the number 1 ranked football team in the world.
