Allegedly, a teacher transported a group of students to the school, but that boy did not exit the car.

Reportedly, the teacher went back to the car later in the day and found the child there unconscious.

Upon being taken to the Bustamante Hospital for Children, the boy was pronounced dead.

Commander of the Kingston Eastern Police Division, Superintendent Tomielee Chambers, confirmed the child’s death to The Gleaner and reported that they are investigating the incident.

According to Superintendent Chambers reported after the teacher took the children to school “it seems as if everyone got out of the car and did not remember or figured more or less that the child had gotten out of the car”.

Similar to this tragic incident, a policeman man from St. Elizabeth left his one-year-old daughter in his car in January and she died.

The toddler was said to have been locked in the car for eight hours as he went to work. Later, she was pronounced dead at the Black River Hospital.

Following the four-year-old child’s death, the father was later interviewed by TVJ. He expressed his disbelief and stated that it is impossible for the teacher to forget a child inside the car. The grieving father explained that the four-year-old boy lived with his mother and the teacher would collect the child from the mother’s house.

He also said that he hadn’t gotten the chance to speak to the teacher, who had carried his child to school approximately 3 times.
