“Get ready for something Big!” was the captioned post shared by Bolt on his Twitter page.

Following the announcement made earlier by Bolt, What You Love Doing Esports (WYLDE) revealed on its Twitter page that the “Fastest Man Alive” will be joining its Dublin-based esports group as co-owner and also listed him as their Chief of Inspiration.

“With his vast competitive experience and Olympic-winning mentality, his guidance will be invaluable as we continue to build professional structures to support the development of our players” stated WYLDE co-founder David Cronin as it relates to Usain Bolt joining their team.

Esports is a form of competition using video games, otherwise known as electronic sports.

With Bolt being an eight-time Olympic world gold medallist champion and also winning 14 medals at the World Championships with 11 of them being gold, the knowledge and leadership that he is expected to provide will significantly contribute to the WYLDE team.

The sprinter first gained recognition for his impressive race in 2002 in which he was honoured with the title of World Junior Champion.

Though retired from track and field in 2017 at the World Athletics Championships, his love for athletics led him to pursue a career as a professional football player where he was subsequently offered a contract to join an Australian A-League side called the Central Coast Mariners.

Bolt’s football dream, however, did not work out and he then ventured into the music business where he now records and produces music with his recording label called “A-Team Lifestyle”.
