9mm Pistol And Ammunition Found In Home Of Mother and 2 Sons in Trelawny

As reported by The Star in a post on their Instagram page, on Tuesday June 28 a woman and her two sons were arrested by the police in the parish of Trelawny after an illegal firearm along with multiple rounds of ammunition were seized inside their home.

Although the authorities were unable to release the identity of the accused, The Jamaica Star revealed that the mother is fifty-eight years old and her sons are twenty and twenty-three years old. According to reports, the mother and sons live in Duncans Trelawny and during an operation at the house carried out by the police, the illegal weapon was found.

It seems that the team of police personnel had been surveying the group of three for some time before they decided to act. During the probe of the house, a black Taurus 9mm semi-automatic pistol along with a magazine which contained fifteen 9mm rounds were found in the search of the elder son’s bedroom. A black mask was also found.

Along with this operation, several others have been carried out in Trelawny since the start of the year and twenty-one illegal firearms have already been seized. An officer told the news team that the operation was a part of an initiative to get rid of firearms in the Parish and all three individuals in custody will surely be charged.
