69-Y-O Man Who Slashed His 67-Y-O Wife’s Throat In Clarendon Allegedly Mentally Ill

The 69-year-old man who was taken into custody for his wife’s murder in Clarendon on Monday is allegedly suffering from mental illness. The 67-year-old woman was found with her throat slashed in Lionel Town.

The police reported that murder victim Pamella Gregory of the Lionel Town Housing Scheme was attacked during an alleged domestic dispute with her husband, Theodus Gregory, and her grandson found her body.

Mr Gregory was taken into custody and the Clarendon Police are now theorizing that the senior citizen might be mentally unstable. Senior Superintendent Glenford Miller, Head of the Clarendon Police, has reported that the pending medical records of the suspect will confirm his mental state.

This is the second horrific domestic murder to be recorded in Clarendon over the past two weeks and also the second incident involving the brutal slashing of the throat. Weeks ago Kimesha Wright and her four children were brutally slain with cuts to their throats in Cocoa Piece of the parish due to a domestic dispute with her cousin, Rushane Barnett, who remains in custody.

SSP Miller also stated that these murders are proof that there is a need for intervention for domestic crimes to stop.

Imploring persons to intervene at any sign of domestic threats from anyone in the neighbourhood, SSP Miller said persons should report the matter to the police for the authorities to “prevent a murder or stop some crime from happening from earlier”.
