Shaggy Tells Summerjam Organisers “S*ck Unnu Madda”
The usual calm and meek exterior of Grammy Award-winning singer Shaggy was cracked during his performance at the 2022 edition of Summerjam in Cologne, Germany, where his raw Jamaican side was exposed.
While he was still performing, the reggae/dancehall veteran became furious at the organisers who seemingly tried to abruptly cut his set. The entire incident has been circulating on social media in a video that has left many persons stunned.
When the organisers apparently attempted to pack up his equipment, Shaggy began hurling expletives as he gave them a strong warning. “P*ssy if yuh touch mi bl**dclaat gear mi and yuh inna problem,” he said into the microphone, “everybody a guh ova pan this every bloodcxxt night unuh think unuh can come touch my ting guh s*ck unnuh madda.”
Shaggy, whose correct name is Orville Richard Burrell, continued to hurl the infamous Jamaican obscenity at the stagehands as he told them that they could not touch his equipment.
The Jamaican superstar went right back to his performance, delighting his cheering fans with more of his songs.
The reaction that this video has received has been a replication of the joyful reaction his fans gave at the event. While one person questioned the government’s reaction to Shaggy’s behaviour given that he is one of the strong pillars of Jamaica’s musical history, other persons laughed about the matter.
One person said, “Wonder what the Jamaican government will say about this behaviour by an ambassador of the country.”
“Dem draw out the real authentic Jamaican out a him,” another person commented.
