Though many students find it challenging to balance their studies and athletic goals, Hibbert is a prime example that it is not only possible but exceedingly so. In April, the 17-year-old conquered the triple jump and long jump at the ISSA Boys and Girls Championships and would repeat this success later at the 2022 CARIFTA Games. Stunning spectators in August at the World Athletics U-20 Championships, Hibbert broke the championship record with his first jump, making him the eighth-best U-20 athlete in the history of the event and placing him second on the world U-18 all-time list.

Showing as much enthusiasm in his studies, the Kingston College alumnus will attend the University of Arkansas in the United States. Hibbert has shown that he will not only be an asset for their track and field program but academically as well with his seven distinctions in his CSEC exams.

The athlete recently took to social media to celebrate his academic achievements and posted a short video on his TikTok. In the video, Hibbert is proudly dancing in the background with “Math (1) distinction, French (1) distinction, Info Tech (1) distinction, English A (1) distinction, Principle of Business (1) distinction, Physics (1) distinction, Social Studies (1) distinction” captioned on the video. Writing “Accounts (absent),” Hibbert added two laughing face emojis, laughing at himself for missing the exam.
