Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw Named The 19th Best Player At the 2023 Women’s World Cup
It is no secret that Khadija Bunny Shaw is quickly becoming one of the most exciting players to watch in the world of women’s football. According to an ESPN panel of experts who will be covering the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand commencing on July 20, Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw was selected as the 19th best player at the showpiece event.
She is the only Jamaican player to make the list and is expected to be an integral part of the Reggae Girlz team.
Her pace and goal-scoring ability make her a great asset, and she will be looking to make her mark at the tournament despite being in a strong group with France, Brazil, and Panama. Reggae Girlz are set to begin their World Cup campaign against France on July 23.
A panel from ESPN announced a list of 25 players who they think will have the most impact at the event. Australian striker Sam Kerr topped the list ahead of Spain midfielder Aitana Bonmati and USA forward Sophia Smith.
At the age of 26, Bunny Shaw is already making a lasting impression both at the club level as well as at the national level. As a result of her outstanding performance during this football season, she was awarded two WSL Player of the Month awards as well as the CONCACAF Women Player of the Year award.
