Following the disappearance of Philip Paulwell’s infant daughter Sarayah and her mother, Toshyna Patterson, the authorities have arrested a female suspect in relation to the suspected kidnapping.
Paterson and 10-month-old Sarayah were last seen at their place of residence at Gilmore Drive, Kingston 20, on September 9.
A $500,000 reward was subsequently offered for any information regarding the pair’s whereabouts.
Following reports earlier this week by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Fitz Bailey, that the police were making strides in the investigation, new reports state that the prime suspect in the disappearance of Patterson and Sarayah was taken into custody on Thursday. The woman was apprehended in St. Andrew and taken to the Half Way Tree Police Station.
The suspect’s identity has not yet been shared with the public, but she is allegedly a close female associate of Paulwell, who is the Member of Parliament for Kingston East & Port Royal. Two male suspects were also reportedly taken into custody yesterday.
According to reports from the Jamaica Observer, the woman is expected to be charged soon for murder and kidnapping. Paulwell is not considered a suspect by the authorities.
