Former People’s National Party (PNP) Member of Parliament Jolyan Silvera has been slapped with a gun charge in his wife’s murder case. This comes after the former legislator was hit with a murder charge for his wife’s death after he was taken into custody two months following her passing.
Silvera appeared in the Circuit Division Gun Court on January 19 for the additional charge of using a gun to kill his wife, Melissa.
Initial reports suggested that Melissa, 42, passed away at her Stony Hill home in St. Andrew from natural causes. However, the findings from the autopsy revealed bullet fragments in her body, prompting a murder investigation.
According to a report from Nationwide News, the prosecution is currently waiting on the findings from the ballistics of Silvera’s licenced firearm, and this analysis will determine the possibility of bail.
