The tourist, along with several others were on a tour of the safari when the elephant began to chase them. It was mentioned that the elephant was enraged, but there was no reason given as to why that may have been.

The vehicle in which the individuals were travelling was said to be going at a speed of around 25 miles per hour but the beast caught up as the safari truck slowed down due to an increase in vegetation that obstructed the vehicle’s path.

When the elephant intercepted the truck, it flipped it over leaving one dead, one with serious injuries and four with minor injuries as stated by Keith Vincent, Wilderness Chief Executive Officer.

Video footage of the incident, taken by a passenger onboard, shows the elephant’s approach and when the vehicle was flipped. Someone could also be heard in the background panicking as the animal got closer.

The Incident took place over the weekend in Zambia, per reports.
