JCF Reveals Quadruple Killing in Negril was Result of Attempted Robbery of Beryllium: Video
Following the quadruple killing that took place on Friday, July 26, in Negril, Westmoreland, Police Commissioner Dr. Kevin Blake along with Deputy Commissioner in Charge of Crime & Security Portfolio, Fitz Bailey and Acting Head of Strategic Operations, Warren Clarke via a video gave details surrounding the incident.
According to Fitz Bailey, the operation that took place on Friday was a result of investigations that have been going on for months, he also detailed that, the JCF and Beryllium have been working closely together since they have become a target for criminals on the island.
Bailey says the act of robbing Beryllium vehicles has become a lucrative endeavour on the island, pointing out the robbery that took place in Mandeville, Manchester in 2023 “where a significant amount of money was stolen” as one of the successful occasions for the criminals.
He stated that the criminals have merged together to form a “criminal network” to commit the acts.
Dr. Kevin Blake in his speech, outlined that he would have rather the incident not taken a deadly route and pleaded to criminals to surrender in the future so that they can have their day in court, “I want to appeal to these criminal elements not to engage the police, our superior training will cause us to come out victorious in these operations.”
He continued, “I want to assure the public that anywhere criminals go we will pursue them… we will not rest until we pursue you and put you before the court…. please lay down your weapons when our men and women come at you.”
Warren Clarke, in his speech, detailed that the JCF is determined to create a “safe space” for Jamaicans to live their lives “without violence”. In the informative video, it was also revealed that the criminals made the attempt in Westmoreland because they saw the area as a “soft target”.

Also, Security company Beryllium is also commending the police like many Jamaicans are doing online, for Friday’s operation which prevented the attack. President Andre McLean in a video release says the company has been working closely with the JCF since the company was first attacked.
