The Jamaica and Leon Bailey Situation

Jamaica is scheduled to play two games over the international break, the first against Nicaragua on October 10 and the second against Honduras on October 14.
The Reggae Boyz’s new head coach Steve McClaren, via a press conference last week, announced that Leon Bailey and several other players will not be available for the two upcoming games, he also gave reasons.
As it relates to Bailey, McClaren stated that the main reason for his unavailability is due to injury.
“Unfortunately Leon got a hamstring injury for the last call cup… he has a problem don’t quite know exactly what that is… He wants to play for Jamaica, he made that clear to me so he’s very disappointed in that,” the English coach outlined.
This statement was on the heels of Bailey being substituted on and later substituted off vs Bayern Munich last week during a Champions League encounter.

However, since the coach spoke about Bailey being injured, Bailey started vs Manchester United over the weekend.
Prior to his recent injury, Leon Bailey was expected to reintegrate into the team again after taking a break for several months from international football to focus on his club career.
As a result of Bailey starting for Aston Villa in the English Premier League which is known to be intense and physically demanding, many local fans of the Reggae Boyz believe that Bailey snubbed the island again to prioritize Aston Villa.
On Instagram, reacting to a JFF post, one person questioned, “how uhnu say Bailey injured”.
