Vice Principal of the Kingston based school, Marsha Moodie-Benbow shared a heartfelt message to the school community, describing Mr. Stevens as a visionary leader whose dedication to educational excellence and the holistic development of students profoundly shaped the institution.

She reassured students and staff that grief counselling services will be available through the Ministry of Education to support them during this difficult time.

According to reports, the Stevens family was vacationing in South Carolina when the incident occurred. On their way to the airport, their vehicle suffered a flat tire. While Mr. and Mrs. Stevens were addressing the issue, they were struck by a van. Despite swift action by emergency responders, the couple succumbed to their injuries.

The couple’s tragic passing has cast a shadow over the school as students prepare to return for the Easter Term. Out of respect for the grieving community, the reopening date has been pushed to Tuesday, allowing additional time for staff and students to process the loss.
