After taking a male lover who is less than half her age, a 51-year-old divorcee is questioning if she should continue to give the young man gifts upon his request.
The woman, who goes by the alias Y.T., shared that her husband went to stay abroad and left her to raise their children after finding another woman. After raising her children on her own, they are now grown, and she lives by herself.
In her letter to Tell Me Pastor, Y.T. said that she began seeking help from a 24-year-old man in her community to help her with errands and yard work. After realising that the young man did not have much clothes, she purchased some for him.
It was after giving the man these gifts that he kissed her for the first time.
“I bought him some pants and shirts. I also gave him money to buy two pairs of shoes. When I gave him the pants and shirts, he hugged me and kissed me and said, ‘Thank you, miss’,” Y.T. shared.
She further shared that the young man, who still lives with his parents, revealed that sometimes he went to bed hungry. Y.T. said that because of that, she invite him over for dinner occasionally, which his mother does not approve of.
“His mother does not like when I call him so often. He told me that she said I would blight him and, if it is man I want, I should look for someone older,” Y.T. said.
Despite his mother’s disapproval, Y.T. said that she and the young man went on to develop an intimate relationship, and she has fallen in love with him. “I can see that the young man loves me. I have never had sex with anybody who is so young… This man and I have become lovers. I did not have to teach him anything. I am happy with him,” Y.T. wrote.
In addition to her first gifts, Y.T. said that she went on to purchase work equipment, including a lawn mower and a weed wacker, to help him work and provide for himself. According to Y.T., her lover is now requesting a van or a pickup truck to further help him with his business.
Despite expressing certainty that the man is in love with her, Y.T. is unsure if she should give her lover such an expensive gift.
