Shab Don Suffers Legal Setback

The latest update regarding the case of Dancehall music producer Shab Don is that permission has been granted for two witnesses to testify via an online platform in the upcoming trial that is set to take place six months from now.

Shab Don whose real name is Linval Thompson and his co-accused Tajay Clarke were unsuccessful in obtaining bail after being charged for the May 25, 2022, fatal shooting of three people and the injury of f two in Rose Heights, St James.

As reported by the Jamaica Gleaner, one of Shab Don’s lawyers, Attorney-at-law Donahue Martin gave the update, stating, “The prosecution got the order granted, and the matter is set for trial readiness hearing on July 15, with a trial date for September 16. They had applied for two witnesses to give evidence by special measures.”

At least one of the witnesses is reported to be behind bars in the USA.

Back in January, Shab Don liked a post on Instagram shared by the Jamaica Star which detailed the situation as it relates to the prosecution pushing for at least one witness to give evidence via online video stream.
