Dancehall artiste Alkaline performed at the ‘Baderation’ mega-concert in Guyana to thousands of fans.
Notably, Skeng headlined the concert last year and there was chaos as a result of his performance. There was a gun salute when he performed ‘Protocol’, a song with incarcerated deejay Tommy Lee Sparta. A mini-stampede occurred among patrons who sought cover from the gunfire.
As a result of the violence which ensued, Guyana’s Public Security Minister, Robeson Benn stated that “no artiste like Skeng will ever come again into this country under the signature of any person from the Ministry of Home Affairs or from the Guyana Police Force.”
This year, less dramatic dancehall acts were booked for the mega show, headlining the show were Alkaline and Jada Kingdom.
On May 27 Alkaline took to the stage with fans screaming and singing to the song he used to open his performance which was Gone Away.
The thirty-plus minutes worth of performance was filled with memorable moments and fans singing along to every song Alkaline sang.
