Social media personality and humanitarian Donna Gowe has begun her latest venture and is launching a career in music, with the new recording artiste sharing her first single on Tuesday.
Aunty Donna, who resides in the community of Mountain View in Kingston, rose to popularity online due to her many philanthropic contributions. She has since ventured outside of social media, becoming a brand ambassador, making her acting debut, and signing with Romeich Major of Romeich Entertainment.
During a live stream on Tuesday, Aunty Donna shared a behind-the-scenes look at her latest venture, showcasing her musical talents to her many followers as she recorded her first single at Genahvese Records. She was all smiles during the recording session, dancing to her song, which featured a traditional one-drop reggae riddim.
The track highlighted her community as well as all her positive attributes and all that she has done over the past few years to help the less fortunate, such as helping to build homes.
“Aunty Donna, come from Mountain View. Aunty Donna come from the gully side [ … ] Aunty Donna is all about positivity and purpose. Aunty Donna, poor people prime minista. Aunty Donna, poor people governa.” the budding deejay sang on her new single.
Expressing how grateful she was, Aunty Donna made sure to shout out all her supporters. She stopped several times during the recording session to add her family, friends, her manager, Romeich, and the Plankanation, which consists of her financial sponsors.
