Black Queen’s “Black N Proud” EP Successfully Launched

Reggae dancehall singer Black Queen has on August 30th, released her debut Ep “Black n Proud” which was launched in Ocho Rios and featured the involvement of other entertainers in support of the now conscious female artiste.

The seven-track project was streamed live by a few radio stations, including the well known Irie Fm, who captured different aspects of the launch including talks and performances by fellow music peer of black Queen, D’Angel.

In an interview done with the Dancehall first Lady, she told Irie that she was fully in support of the move by the singer, further noting that her favorite song from the project was “You say” which immediately captured her attention once she heard the track.

That specific track for Black Queen has been getting the most radio circulation, even getting a number 23 position on the reggae charts for which the artist is very proud of.

D’Angel Surprises Black Queen At Her EP Launch And Praises Her For Positive Music

Initially, Black Queen stated that she was questioning the release of the song however, D’Angel insisted she did get it out as the track was great.

D’Angel also encouraged Queen to keep doing conscious music as she stated that positive sounding music was what the radio stations were interested in playing.

She also said she was in support of anything that has to with female empowerment, which she commended Black Queen on.

D’Angel also gave shout outs to Mama Elise Kelly and Amber at Irie Fm.

The mixture of songs on the project is very progressive in concept as the main ideas behind the composition is health and spirituality.

Black Queen was previously known for doing regular Dancehall songs in the Dancehall space however, she changed her direction to be more positive for this project.

The female singer stated that the decision was an effort to contribute to the constructive progress of black people, as that is what they need at this time.

The entertainer grew up in the community of Waterhouse, the same place that world-renown producer, King Jammy’s is from.

Just like the title of her project and in defense of her race, Queen did a song called “Black n Proud” which already is being said to be getting good rotation on the radio.

The Ep launch featured many Rastafarian members who sold their products to those attending. This complemented the positive nature of Black Queen’s Ep and helped to promote the change of her musical style.

The amazing compilation of songs from the female entertainer also features a song done for the late Niko Chromatic who unfortunately passed away in 2018 entitled “nobody feels my pain”.

In addition to the First Lady of Dancehall, and a performance by Black Queen herself, the very interesting Ep launch featured great performances from entertainers such as Singer J who she has a magnificent collaboration with, Chuck Fenda, and Italee, who came out in support of the now conscious female artiste.

Queen said that Italee contributed to the spiritual vibe of the launch and was a member of a powerful trio of Aries women featuring the two, and D’Angel.
