After the unsuccessful last campaign (the 4th line in the Bundesliga, early failures in the National Cup and Champions League), the management realized that significant changes are needed. That’s why it had been known beforehand that the new coach would become Lucien Favre.

«Borussia Dortmund» is very active on the transfer market. The team has been already left by such players, as Castro, Yarmolenko and  Papastathopoulos. There’s an obvious trend to sign younger players. So, this summer, the team bought:

  •         Delaney;
  •         Diallo;
  •         Hakimi.

The latter has left on loan from “Real” for 2 years. The promising Mexican player is able to solve the problem with the right flank.

Live soccer matches are now accessible to millions of users thanks to the rapid technology development. The competitions where “Borussia” takes part in traditionally become one of the most popular matches.

Prospect for Next Season

In general, the team squad looks very fighting. The only position that needs to be strengthened is the center forward. Batshuayi who showed himself from the best side in the second half of the season returned to “Chelsea” and there’s still no good substitution.

Of course, we expect the team fighting for the champion title but it worse than Munich “Bayern” in the squad’s potential. Favre has an experience of working with the teams, with which he succeeded, but this is an absolutely different level, as his players have more meaningful tasks now.

After the last year’s failure in the Champions League (the 3rd line at the group stage and no any victories), fans expect the successful game at this tournament. The team hasn’t long achieved success on the international arena but, probably, the summer changes will benefit it. The important trump of the team is an active support from fans. The home stadium is traditionally overcrowded and hosts 80 thousand spectators.

As we don’t expect revolutionary achievements from “Borussia” now, it can become its edge, as there’s no psychological pressure in this case. We’ll see whether Favre becomes the same legendary coach for the Dortmund team, as Klopp and Tuchel.
