Brave Shop Owner Chases Gunman Away With Cutlass

According to CCTV footage inside a convenience store, a would-be thief was chased away by the brave owner of the store when he attempted to rob it at gunpoint.

The incident, as displayed by the time stamp on the video, took place on Friday, November 3, 2023, sometime after seven in the evening. From the video, it can be seen that a customer is just leaving the store, making way for another who came in to order something.

Just after the man makes an inquiry, the door opens and a man in full black clothing and a ski mask rushes in and pulls a gun on the owner. The customer quickly exits the shop to escape the situation and the owner springs into action at the same time.

The owner grabs a cutlass from behind the counter and fearlessly advances on the gunman who tentatively backs away before fleeing the store when the owner makes a swinging motion with his machete.

The thief tries to reenter the store but the owner leaves the counter behind to chase after him shouting, “Shoot, shoot. Motherf***er”.

The video was posted on Instagram and many of the people who commented either thought that the gun was empty or that it was not a real gun. Drakes_man said, “If brave was a person? No bullet nuh inna dat man,” and cxl.lxxn wrote, “The man really go thief with water gun.”
