“Toni-Ann Singh,” a collaborative single between Nigerian rapper Burna Boy and Dancehall artiste Popcaan has secured a place on Billboard’s US Afrobeats Songs chart.
The official audio for the single was released a few weeks ago by Atlantic Records on Burna Boy’s “Love, Damini” album and has been on the chart for the past week holding down the #12 spot. The inspiration for the song came from Toni-Ann Singh, Popcaan’s girlfriend, and former Miss World Jamaica.
“Gal yuh pretty like, Toni-Ann Singh, fimi angel without the two wings” is a line in the song mentioned by Popcaan.
Billboard’s US Afrobeats Songs chart ranks the 50 most popular Afrobeats songs each week in the country by determining measures such as leading audio and video music services, plus download sales from top music retailers.
Furthermore, the album has also debuted at #2 on the US World Albums chart, #14 on the all-genre Billboard 200 albums chart, #2 on the UK Albums, and #6 in Canada, Norway, and Switzerland.
