American rapper Cardi B is at her breaking point from the criticisms she has been receiving from fans who were disappointed that she did not make an appearance at the 64th Grammy Awards ceremony on Sunday, April 3.
Cardi B was nominated for one award at the Grammys, that is Best Rap Performance for her 2021 single titled “Up.” However, despite this, she explained to fans her reason for not attending in a tweet “I’m not going to a award if I don’t got a new song to perform Or my album ain’t out …Next year”.
This explanation by the rapper did not sit well with her fans who anticipated her appearance, which led to them continuously question her reason for not attending and as Cardi B claims, going as far as to disrespect her two kids and husband, Offset in the process.
The 2019 Grammy Award winner became infuriated and tweeted numerous expletives in which she called her fans names such as ‘dumb’ while also stating that she “hates this fu*king dumb fan base”.
Since the heated exchange between the “Bodak Yellow” artiste and her fans, she has taken the extreme measure to delete her Twitter account and Instagram page which has over 150 million followers combined. Her official Facebook page is still, however, active.
Nonetheless, for the Best Rap Performance category that Cardi B was nominated, Baby Keem featuring Kendrick Lamar won the award for their single titled “Family Ties”.
