DeCapri Intent on Making His Mark in Dancehall: Drops New Video for ‘Bad Like You’

US-based Dancehall artiste DeCapri has plans to become a staple in Dancehall and on that path, the deejay has been consistently putting out new music over the years as he looks to build his demography.
His latest musical endeavour was released on October 10, a song accompanied by a music video entitled ‘Bad Like You’. ‘Bad Like You’ is the latest of a slew of tracks that the St. Ann native has put out over the years as he seeks to connect with the ladies.
DeCapri who is from Orange Hill, Brown’s Town, St. Ann is now based in New York. He noted that growing up in St. Ann played a major role in his love for music because of its rich musical history, he stated, “St. Ann has produced some of the greatest reggae and dancehall stars, and that influence has definitely shaped who I am as an artist.”
Being a part of the group “St. Ann Groovers” was the first musical experience for DeCapri, an experience that made DeCapri decide that he wanted to pursue professionally. “It was a learning experience, mastering the art of writing, producing, and recording. That group gave me the confidence I needed to take my career to the next level,” he told Prism Marketing.
DeCapri’s style of making music involves a lot of lyrics with melodies where necessary while staying true to the authentic Dancehall vibe that the world loves.
DeCapri is best known for his previously released songs such as “Rich Fi Dis Year”, “Come Now” and “My Time.” As it relates to the song “My Time” DeCapri stated, “I was riding a wave of excitement because I was getting airplay and knew it was my moment.”
With regards to the Jamaican doing music while living abroad, he stated, “Moving to the U.S. changed how I approach music. It made me more professional, and now I’m delivering my sound to a wider, more diverse audience.”
