Born in Kingston upon Thames, England, Rice showed a different side of his personality as he performed Mad Cobra’s iconic Dancehall hit, ‘Press Trigger,’ in a comical video shared by fellow England international Ivan Toney.

The video, seemingly recorded at a private pool party, showcases Rice confidently singing along to the popular Jamaican track. While his knowledge of the lyrics was impressive, his attempt at the Jamaican accent was hilariously off-key, sparking laughter from the person recording — likely Toney himself.

In the video, Rice can be seen with a mic in hand, sing, “mi press trigga mi nuh press people button, nuh bagga chat come face mi with sup’n… like how mi have mi 22 outta mi sup’n.”

The clip, Shared to Toney’s Instagram Stories, has since gone viral locally after multiple reshares, with many Jamaicans enjoying the lighthearted moment.

“Press Trigger,” originally released in the early 2000s on the legendary Buzz riddim (which also features Sean Paul’s “Gimme the Light”), remains a Dancehall classic. Rice’s spirited rendition pays homage to its enduring appeal.

Interestingly, this isn’t the first time England’s football stars have shown love for Dancehall. Cole Palmer, another England teammate of Toney and Rice, went viral a few years ago for singing Vybz Kartel’s ‘Clarks’ featuring Popcaan.

Jamaican-born Raheem Sterling who is another popular player for England, is believed by many fans to influence the squad’s Caribbean-inspired musical tastes.

The video sparked mixed reactions on social media, with one fan jokingly commenting, “Bwoy Sterling response fi dem behaviour yah,” while another added, “That’s why the Caribbean hate us.”
