Delano Tucker And His Family Gets Well Needed Support
Delano Tucker, a student who attends Guy’s Hill High, St. Catherine whose touching story won the hearts of many both locally and internationally has been receiving an outpour of support since his viral video.
Within a day of Delano’s life story detailing the deplorable living conditions of him and his family and their dire need for help, doors of opportunity have been opened for the bright young man. The video was posted on Street Driven tv’s Youtube page and has received more than 200,000 views and counting.
This story is one that resonated with many Jamaicans as this is a reality that they had to face while growing up, therefore, unity and strength were displayed when persons from all over, from different societal backgrounds, came together and offered support in ways such as food, clothing, blocks to lay a foundation for a new home, devices or even just to lend a hand of support.

A TVJ reporter asked Delano how he is feeling since the video was posted and with a bright smile and cheerful laughter, the young man expressed that he is elated, however, a bit weary from the constant phone calls, but he appreciates the support that he and his family have been receiving. Additionally, his mother shared that she is still in disbelief that the video actually went viral and the support they have been receiving since is surreal.

Even more so, Opposition Leader Mark Golding and the Agricultural Ministry have asserted to the public that they will ensure that Delano’s aspirations of becoming an Agricultural Inspector becomes a reality. They have offered him a fully funded scholarship to attend his dream college, College of Agriculture Science and Education (CASE).
“I feel that I will make good use of it (scholarship) and the persons who sponsored me I won’t disappoint them” was Delano Tucker’s response regarding the scholarship that he has received.
