In their very first collaborative track, Dancehall artistes Demarco and Pablo YG unite to share an encouraging message of self-reliance in their new track Count We Out.
In Count We Out‘s music video, the deejays find themselves in the midst of their biggest struggle yet and befriend each other while incarcerated in prison. The single serves as an anthem for those who have found themselves in the darkest of places but have still come out on top despite those who have counted them out.
Demarco takes the lead on the track, kicking off the single’s intro and first verse as he gives his listeners a glimpse into the hardships of his journey.
“Buss a cold Red Stripe caw mi bear nuff. Cyah cry dog, mi dry up mi tear ducts. Wish mi coulda a paint the perfect picture with the paintbrush. Mi tell unuh straight up f**k off wid unuh fake love. Nuff a unuh bitch wouldn’t f**k if wi neva famous. F**k the fake trust give mi the status,” Demarco sings on the track.
Pablo YG picks up where Demarco leaves off after the chorus, and delivers the second verse of the single, as well as the fourth.
“We a come from one cent, dutty shoes, and di pants dem [ … ] 32 pan mi pants waist. Run di food. Have sense, nuh feel seh man play. Mummy want tings,” Pablo deejays.
Count We Out was released on September 27, with the True Gift Entertainment and Shakespeare-produced track acquiring over 144,000 views and 11,000 likes in just two days after debut on YouTube.
