Dancehall entertainer Dexta Daps was released from police lock-up today, three weeks after he was arrested in his home town.
The Dappa don was being detained under the state of emergency. His Attorney Peter Champagnie earlier stated that the matter was set for mention on Monday, April 20.

The dancehall Singjay was arrested by detectives from the St Andrew South Division and the Major Investigation Division during an ongoing investigation.
Senior Superintendent of Police Stephanie Lindsay stated that Dexta Daps was arrested in connection to several shootings of recent in the Seaview area and neighbouring communities.
The soulful deejay was held at the Hunt’s Bay police station.
Because of his popularity, power and wealth, it’s alleged that he is the Don For the area where he’s from.
Dexta Daps seemingly was at home in Seaview on April 8th when the Police took him. Dexta Daps was previously arrested in 2015.
