Diana King Opens Up About “Rape” Experience
Diana King has revealed a shocking and dreadful part of her past which speaks about her being sexually abused at the tender age of possibly 12. This has been something the iconic singer suffered through in private without the public’s knowledge of it happening.
On Saturday the ‘Shy Guy’ hit singer publicly opened up about being raped on Twitter in a series of tweets that spoke about the “healing” she received on her journey while stating: “end rape culture”.
In her first tweet she wrote, “I’VE LEARNT 1st HAND THAT WHEN U TELL YOUR TRUTH OUT LOUD, U TAKE AWAY ANY POWER IT MAY HAVE OVER U. U ALSO TAKE POWER FROM ANYONE WHO MAY TRY TO BELITTLE U IN EVERY WAY. Like🤔 U GROW A FULL BODY HALO. A SHIELD OF LIGHT & TUNGSTEN FROM YOUR HEAD TO YOUR TOES. ITS TRULY PEACEFUL.”
“I WAS A GIRL WHO LIKED GIRLS. SOME BOYS NOTICED THIS & PLANNED MY GANG RAPE TO “FIX ME.”NOT ALL THE BOYS KNEW THIS.ONLY THE 2 WHO WERE MY FRIENDS.OVER 20 BOYS&MEN WERE INVITED.T’WAS THE 1ST TIME I EXITED MY BODY.I EXPERIENCED & OBSERVED IT. I BLOCKED THE REASON. #ENDRAPECULTURE!” she continued in a second tweet.
King’s third tweet encouraged more rape victims to step forward and speak their truth as she told them it would help them to “heal” while they stood together to “end rape culture”.
“FOR DECADES … I BLOCKED THE REASON. I WAS ONLY BETWEEN 11-12 YRS OLD. GRATITUDE🙏🏾 FOR HEALING & AUTHENTICITY ON MY JOURNEY. SHARE YOUR STORY. END RAPE CULTURE. RELEASE. HEAL. BREATHE,” she wrote.
The 51-year-old singer concluded with the words “AND I KNO I’M NOT ALONE 🙏🏾.”
