During the singing of a cover of Ginuwine’s So Anxious, a patron at an event threw a cell phone which struck the Started From The Bottom artiste on his wrist; the cell phone bounced off and fell off the stage.
Drake was unbothered by the flying phone as he continued performing his set.
On Wednesday night, Drake’s It’s All a Blur tour kicked off in Chicago, the first stop on his four-month-long tour. The singer\rapper, 36, was the latest victim of unfavourable audience behaviour when he was struck by a phone thrown on stage by an audience member. Fortunately, he was not injured.
The situation is the latest in a long line of instances in which concertgoers have thrown items at artistes, including Bebe Rexha, Pink and Kelsea Ballerini.
The issue of concertgoers throwing cellphones on stage has become increasingly prevalent in recent years, leading to a call for better crowd control and more responsible behaviour from fans.
