Earthquakes Rock Jamaica and Neighbouring Islands

10:50 AM Sunday morning, Jamaicans felt a tremor that sent many persons to social media to make note of the quake. An hour later at 11:50 AM a second earthquake was felt in Jamaica.
As per the Android Earthquake Alerts System, via a Google search, the first quake had a magnitude of 5.4. However, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported a 6.0 magnitude earthquake.
The quake’s origin is 52 km from Pilon, Cuba which is located north of Jamaica.
The quake was felt in countries such as the Bahamas, Cayman Islands, Jamaica, Haiti, Cuba etc.
On the other hand, the second quake was even stronger, with a 6.8 magnitude recorded not far from the first quake, according to the Android Earthquake Alerts System, via a Google search.
The second quake’s origin is 37 km from Pilon, Cuba which is located north of Jamaica.
