Elaine and Derron tied the knot in 2019 at Old Fort Bay in St. Ann on Saturday, November 2, with the sprint champion later confirming the pair’s nuptials with a touching message on Instagram.

“I have a best friend as a husband, and he is my number one supporter. He’s a family man, and he’s always giving back to God. That is what makes him a beautiful man. We’re not perfect by any means, but that makes us beautiful as well. We’re not afraid to say we’re not perfect. We have our disagreements, but that comes along with marriage,” Elaine wrote.

Three years later, the young couple has maintained a strong bond, with both Elaine and Derron expressing their gratitude to one another in celebratory anniversary posts on their Instagram pages. Elaine shared a collage of photographs and videos of special moments from the couple’s union, expressing how thrilled she was to have spent the last three years by her partner’s side in the caption.

“Happy 3 year anniversary to us. 3 years may not be a long time to be together, but I am still grateful to be the one standing by your side the past three years nonetheless.”

Derron shared two photographs of him and his wife along with the accompanying message, “To find reciprocated love is a blessing that gives you a life while you live.”

The Herah’s do not only share a romantic relationship but a professional one as well. In 2021, Elaine split from the Stephen Francis-coached MVP Track Club, later forming the New Era Track Club with her husband, who is her current coach. Derron, a former St. Jago High hurdler, has worked with the Racers Track Club set-up, the Cameron Blazers Track Club, and the Mico University.

The former athlete disclosed earlier this year that though the New Era Track Club would assist other athletes in their development, his primary focus would be his wife, as the club was created to give her a personalised set-up.

Speaking at a press conference formally introducing her as the newest member of PUMA at the PUMA House in July, Elaine expressed that she was pleased with her first athletic season with her husband.

“It is new to me. As they always say to you, don’t let your husband teach you to drive. It’s almost like my husband teaching me to drive. We are not going to agree on certain things. But I am working on that,” Elaine stated.
