Elaine Thompson-Herah Celebrates Her 30th Birthday

Jamaican Olympic athlete, Elaine Thompson-Herah celebrates her 30th birthday today, June 28. In honour of this special day, heartfelt birthday wishes have since flooded across social media platforms by her fans and supporters.

The Chairman of Super Plus Food Stores, Wayne Chen who also holds many other prestigious titles, shared a post on his Twitter page highlighting some of Thompson-Herah’s notable achievements in her career in track and field.

“Elaine Thompson Herah, Legendary Jamaican sprinter, born 30 years ago today on 28 Jun 1992 in Banana Ground, Manchester. Five-time Olympic champion; fastest woman alive; second-fastest in history; first woman in history to win “sprint double” at consecutive Olympics. @FastElaine,” wrote Chen.

Thompson-Herah hails from the parish of Manchester in a community called Banana Ground. She ran track and field for Christiana High School and later Manchester High. Upon completion of secondary school, the young sprinter was recruited by Paul Francis of the University of the Technology (UTECH) Jamaica.

In October 2021, she was conferred with the national honour of Order of Distinction (Commander Class) for her outstanding achievements in athletics and is one of Jamaica’s most accomplished female sprinters of all time.

On Thompson-Herah’s Instagram page, she posted a few pictures from a photo shoot that she did in celebration of her 30th birthday. She shared two different looks with her followers, in which she transitioned between heels and sneakers whilst wearing a dress.
