Elephant Man Returns to Court in April for Immigration Charges
Elephant Man was in Court with his attorney Christopher Townsend on Wednesday, because in the past he was charged with false declaration and false volunteer declaration when he allegedly lied to immigration officers after he returned to the island in 2020. Ele had been on a trip to Belgium and Brussels. Belgium was one of the countries that were on the list of countries that were on Jamaica’s travel ban.
He is now scheduled to return to the St Andrew Parish Court on April 28 as that is the mention date that was set when the last court airing took place.
Elephant Man whose given name is Oniel Bryan was charged along with Kevin Shields, a colleague who is a disc jockey who was also travelled with him when he was questioned. Chief Parish Judge Chester Crooks extended the bail for the accused men when they appeared before him.
It is alleged that the entertainer and the disc jockey arrived at the Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay on March 20, 2020 and did not state on the customs form that they had visited both Belgium and Brussels.
Shield is being represented by his lawyer Russell Stewart.
