Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp are DOWN!… Here’s FB’s Statement

The three very popular social media pages have been down for hours now, just before midday and it’s unclear what was the cause for the sudden outage even though many professionals are suggesting that the outage is as a result of DNS(Domain Name Server) problems.

A statement was release by Facebook on the matter, “We’re aware that some people are having trouble accessing our apps and products”, “We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible, and we apologize for any inconvenience” the company stated on Twitter.

It’s unclear how many countries the platforms are down in but it surely out in Jamaica. Reports have also stated that this is a Worldwide outage, one of the platforms’ longest.

The outage came the morning after “60 Minutes” aired a segment in which Facebook whistleblower Frances Haugen claimed the company is aware of how its platforms are used to spread hate, violence and misinformation, and that Facebook has tried to hide that evidence. Haugen also outlined that Facebook is primarily interested in earning ms and not human rights.

Facebook has pushed back on those claims.

Facebook is the owner of Instagram and WhatsApp.
